Trex Decking Sales Kit
Trex, a leader in composite decking material, worked closely with Spencer to develop a new sales kit that contractors could present, work through and even leave with prospective customers to use.
While the kit highlighted the benefits of the Trex brand over wood, its greatest benefit was elevating the Trex brand over competitive composite companies by allowing end consumers to engage and become involved with the actual creation of their own deck. This was a way consumers could develop a relationship with the Trex brand. A great thing for contractors who only had 20 to 30 minutes to prove the Trex value and make the sale.
The kit we created including a laminated grid, grease pencil, and “punch-out” template shapes of various deck objects and furnishings, helped owners experiment and get excited about their Trex dream deck. The kit also contained coupons cross-selling grills, outdoor furniture, and other outdoor-related items.
The team at Spencer completed the entire project in three months, and due to the overwhelming success of the initial production of 250,000 kits, Trex returned after only six months to reorder another 100,000.
